Mixed Level Hatha Yoga
Every class begins with my checking in with every student to get a sense of where you're at. I then give a class that aims to meet your needs at that moment. The yoga tools I use generally will be a combination of asana (postures), pranayama (breathing), sometimes chanting and visualisation.
Typical requests from students will include doing something for stabilising and strengthening lower backs, or releasing tension in the neck and shoulders, or reversing the effects of sitting in front of the computer all day, or something for stress.
Hatha A and B
The pace may be slow, it may be dynamic, it may be familiar asana or I might incorporate elements of natural movement - it all depends on the energy levels, moods and needs of students on the day.
A is in the morning (90 minute class), B is in the evening (75 minute class).
Hatha R&R (next availability TBC)
Working with computers, slouching forward, breast feeding: all of this can leave your neck and shoulders feeling tired and sore. Thursday evening classes use yoga techniques to address neck and shoulder tension. Get to know movement patterns that strain the neck and shoulders, and learn ways to change these patterns. During our classes, we'll relieve tense and tired muscles through stretching, and bring new life to muscles that are commonly ignored by strengthening.
The Tuesday evening class will focus on relaxation. The class may draw from tools such as meditation, pranayama, chanting and asana. Tuesday classes will be silent.
We try to be as inclusive as possible. Everyone from total beginners to experienced practitioners are welcome. Do get in touch if you have a medical condition or an injury that requires special care.
