Asana and meditation
Regular asana (yoga posture) practice can bring us many physical and mental benefits - strength, better range of movement and freedom from injury, stress reduction and a connectedness with ourselves.
But asana is only one of the tools that yoga gives us to live better.
Living well also means maintaining emotional and mental calm regardless of what is going on in our lives. To cultivate this, other yoga tools such as meditation are useful.
Meditation can bring us many benefits: greater focus, more clarity, better control over our feelings, increased concentration skills, lower stress levels, increased ability to manage pain and the list goes on.
This class is for beginners to meditative practices. Each class has time for simple asana practice, and meditation.
Students will be introduced to a range of meditative practices from various traditions.
Anyone that is interested in exploring more than the physical aspects of yoga practice.
Anyone with a commitment to curiosity and openness.
Please note that asana is not the sole focus of this class. Movements will be slow and simple.
